"ARNAV" Khushi screamed in horror.Arnav lay on the ground,leaning against the wall,unconscious.Shattered pieces of an empty whiskey bottle adorned the floor.A sharp piece lay in his limp hand.Khushi rushed to Arnav and kneeled dow to his level.She patted his cheeks"Arnav wake up...open your Arnav..it's me Khushi" He didn't open his eyes.A tear slipped from her eyes.With some difficulty,Khushi managed to drag Arnav to their bedroom.She picked up the phone and called the doctor.He was on his way.Khushi sat next to Arnav,caressing his hair,hoping he would wake up.She unknowingly pressed her hand against his arm and he winced in pain.Wanting to know his source of pain,Khushi gently turned his arm.She gasped and widened her eyes.In huge,capital letters,Arnav had written her name across his arm.His blood outlined it.A tear slipped by when she realized why there was a piece of glass in his hand.

The doctor finally cam and checked him.He turned to Khushi "Looks like he hasn't eaten anything and overall he seems stressed.To top it off,he lost a lot of blood" Khushi nodded "I have given him injection so it'll help him relax.He'll wake up in a few hours.When he does,feed him something and make sure to keep him stress-free" 

"Thank you doctor"

The doctor nodded and left.Khushi sat by Arnav and held his hand.Bringing it to her lips,she lightly kissed it "Wake up soon Arnav" she whispered.

It was 1 AM in the morning.It has been two hours since Khushi had found Arnav.Khushi couldn't believe so much had happened in the one hour she was gone and wished she hadn't left.She didn't know when she fell asleep next to Arnav.

Anav groaned in pain and slowly opened his eyes.He felt something beside him shift a bit and then stop.Arnav turned around and gasped seeing Khushi asleep beside him "You came back"he whispered.He leaned out his hand to touch her and confirm it was really her and not an illusion but she woke up.Khushi sat up seeing him awake.Arnav was about to do the same but groaned in pain "Don't move Arnav" said Khushi in a gentle voice "How are you feeling?"

"Why?" That was the only thing he said.

"What do you mean?"

"Why did you come back?" he asked.

Khushi's eyes softened "Because I love you"

Arnav's eyes twinkled and a small smile stretched across his face "You..You forgive me?"

Khushi nodded and hugged him.Arnav closed his eyes,wrapping his arms around her.Suddenly Khushi realized something and parted from him.Looking at his puzzled expression she said"I'll be right back"

"Don't go" he said,holding her hand.

Khushi gave a soft smile "I'll be back in a few minutes..promise"

Arnav reluctantly let her go.As said,she came back after a few minutes with a bowl in her hand.Sitting next to him,Khushi extended the bowl towards him.Realizing it was soup,Arnav turned away.Khushi smiled and dipped the spoon into the spoon and held it in front of him.Arnav drank it as she fed him.After they were done,Khushi put away the bowl.She sat next to Arnav and lightly grazed her name across his arm.She looked up at him "Why?"

"What d-do you mean?" 

Khushi blinked "Why did you write my name across your arm? Especially with a sharp piece of glass?" she asked.

"I-I" Arnav gulped "I can't live without you"

Khushi burst into tears and fiercely hugged him "I promise I'll never leave you Arnav...ever" she promised.

Arnav hugged her back tightly "I promise I'll never hurt you again...ever" he promised.

Khushi smiled and lay her head on his chest.After a while they parted.Khushi looked up and realized how close they were to each other.She slowly leaned and kissed him.Arnav remained frozen for the first few seconds,probably surprised but then began responding.It was a slow yet passionate kiss.

Khushi was making breakfast in the kitchen when she felt arms wrap around her waist.Arnav placed his chin on her shoulder "What are you doing?"

"Making breakfast...is Aarav awake?"

Arnav nodded "He's in his cradle,playing with his toys" He nuzzled against her neck,making her giggle "Oh by the way,the family should be coming back today"

"Actually we're back"  Arnav and Khushi turned around and saw Anjali at the entrance of the kitchen "Looks like we missed some things"

Khushi blushed and Arnav smirked "Great,you came back Di..I have made breakfast for everybody"

"Awe,that's sweet of you" smiled Anjali.

"I am going now to office" said Arnav all of a sudden.

"But have your breakfast" objected Khushi.

Arnav grabbed an apple "I believe I'll have that delivered by you in a some time" he winked at her and left.

Khushi smiled and brought breakfast for everybody.Once everybody was fed,including Aarav,she left with some breakfast for Arnav,making sure Aarav was supervised by the family.She reached AR and went to Arnav's cabin.He was sitting in his leather chair,staring at the door as if waiting for her.She smiled as she entered "You didn't knock.Go back out and knock" Arnav said in fake anger.

Khushi sat on one of the leather chairs "Oh really because that's sad since I am not going to"

Arnav smirked "Oh really" Khushi nodded.Arnav stood up and walked up to her.He stood in front of her and leaned towards her,holding the leather arms of the chair she was sitting on "Well there's a punishment for everything" he whispered against her lips.

Khushi grinned "You're right" She pushed him and ran to his chair.Sitting on it,she declared "I am the new ASR"

"Wrong" he said "You are the new and only KASR" 

He leaned towards her,holding the leather arms of the chair she was sitting on just like before.Suddenly they heard a throat clear.They looked towards the door and saw a woman around in her mid twenties.She wore a tight black short dress,showing off her figure.Arnav scowled.He pulled Khushi up and sat on his chair,pulling her into his lap "Arnav" she gasped.

Arnav didn't pay attention to her "What the hell are you doing inside my cabin without knocking!" he yelled.Khushi flinched and so did the woman "You have worked in this company for three years and yet you don't know the rules!No matter how important the matter is,you always knock and until I don't say come in,you stay outside the door!"

The woman pursed her lips in anger "But she got to come in without knocking" she said pointing at Khushi.

"She's my wife!" he yelled a bit louder.Khushi held his arm to make him calm but it didn't work "Now get out and knock!" The woman,insulted enough,went out the door and knocked "Come in" Arnav said in his calm voice which made Khushi wonder how he controlled his voice.

The woman came in and stood in front of the desk "ASR,the new manager that's giving our routines and outfits is making it difficult for us..she is giving the wrong size to the wrong model"

Arnav nodded "I'll see to it.You may leave"

The woman giving a final glare to Khushi,left.Arnav began mumbling how he needed to get better models "Who was she" Khushi asked.

"Just an annoying model who complains for every small thing.I can bet with you she is lying because she didn't like her outfit"

Khushi giggled but then straightened up "Do you handle every one of your employees like this?"

Arnav nodded "This will teach them discipline and they will never fool around during their work hours"

Khushi pretended to yawn "You sound like an old,strict grandpa trying to teach his grand kids manners"

Arnav chuckled "I will become a grandpa though with the help of you and our kids"

Khushi blushed "We'll see to that later..now have your breakfast"

"With pleasure" he winked at her.

It was 5:45 PM.Khushi was at home,talking with the family when suddenly Arnav came and approached her "Arnav? I thought you were coming at 8"

Arnav nodded "I was but we have to leave for an interview at 6:15"

"Interview?" she asked confused.

Arnav nodded "I am tired of telling people I am married again and again.I was planning this before..." Khushi held his hand for him to continue "Since I am a famous business man,people will wonder who the lucky lady is"

Khushi giggled "Okay.I'll go get ready"

Khushi went to their bedroom and got ready in a purple sari.

She got ready at 6:12 and approached Arnav "Let's go"

Arnav nodded "You look beautiful" Khushi smiled.

He let out his arm.Khushi wrapped her arm around his and smiled "We'll see you on TV" said Priya (Arnav's Mother) "Wait which show?"

"Burning Lights" answered Arnav.

Khushi paled "Burning Lights?" she looked at Arnav "That's such a popular show..more than thousands of people will be watching"

Arnav nodded "That's the point"

"I-I can't go"

"Why not?" asked Arnav.

"I-I am scared..what if I make a mistake..people will laugh"

Arnav smiled "I'll be there with you..nothing like that will happen..I promise"

Khushi looked at him and just gazed.

"Welcome to another episode of Burning Lights!" said the female host happily "Today we have Mr.Arnav Singh Raizada and his wife.Yes,the great ASR is married!" Arnav held Khushi's trembling hand and assured her looking into her eyes "So what's your name Mrs.ASR?" 

The host was very cheerful and nice making Khushi smile "Khushi"

"What a beautiful name Khushi.Now let's start with the interview.How do you manage with ASR's anger,Khushi?"

Khushi put on a puzzled expression "How do I put up with his anger?The only time I have seen him angry is at his employees.Otherwise he is very kind and caring"

"Wow.So that means ASR has two sides on him" said the host interested "How long has it been since you two have been married?"

"A year" answered Arnav.

The host's eyes went wide "And you decide to tell now?"

"Actually I didn't know many people would be picky in my personal life" said Arnav.

Many oohs echoed throughout the crowd.The host nodded "Like who?"

"Reporters like you" 

The host seemed taken a back but turned back to her position "Do you two have any kids?"

"One son" answered Arnav.

"Wow already?"

"Well I can't stay away from my wife for long" he said staring at Khushi.Khushi blushed.

The crowd went in awes "I see..So Khushi,do you have a job?"

Khushi was about to say no but Arnav answered for her "Yes.She's my personal assistant"

Khushi stared at him,wondering why he was lying "I see" said the host frowning a bit "Let's get to the main part.How did you two meet?"

Arnav looked at Khushi.She smiled and answered "We met at a camp"

"A camp?" the host asked confused.

"Yeah" said Khushi "Arnav had joined the camp with his friends and I had come with mine.We met there and he was very bold in becoming friends with me"

"Bold" repeated the host leaning forward.

"Yeah" Khushi looked at Arnav and he smiled at her,encouraging her "We were going rock climbing and he just all of a sudden came behind me and held my hand.He gave his introduction and asked to be friends with me.I agreed and I guess we just fell in love along the way"

Arnav held her hand in a loving gesture and the crowd just stared,even more interested.The host nodded "Did you live in another city Khushi?"

"No" Arnav answered immediately.Khushi couldn't understand why he was lying.

"I see" said the host "So Khushi,after knowing ASR had so many girlfriends and had affairs,how could you manage to love him and expect him to remain faithful towards you since he has a record of break ups?"

Arnav stared at the host,wanting to kill her but Khushi held his hand,trying to calm him.She looked at the host "Actually as I got to know Arnav,I realized those relationships meant nothing to him.He was just going with one girl because he wanted to get rid of her by proving to her that he would offer nothing but once he would get of her,another girl would come try her luck"

"She trusted me and understood me and that's just one of the reasons I fell in love with her" added Arnav smiling.

The host nodded,frowning a bit.She looked down and suddenly noticed his arm "What happened to your arm ASR?"

Arnav looked at his arm and realized the mark was slightly showing.Without hesitation,he pulled his sleeve up,showing Khushi's name stretched on his arm.The crowd gasped "I did this" he admitted.

"But why" asked the host..

"Arnav looked at Khushi and gazed into her eyes "Because I love her"

The crowd awed and that was the end of that show.

The interview was over and Arnav and Khushi were heading back home.Khushi looked at Arnav and said "Arnav?"

"Hmm"

"Why did you lie about me working with you and living in Delhi before at the show?"

Arnav glanced at Khushi and turned back towards the road "Because she was a reporter"

"What do you mean?" she asked confused.

"Khushi,reporters like that host want juicy news which will make their show popular.If you had said you didn't work,she would've thought you were dependent on me which others would've thought too.I also lied about you already living in Delhi because she would've thought you chased me and were after my money.Though that host was nice,her intentions weren't.She would've later added some things that weren't true at all"

"Oh" 

Arnav stopped in front of Raizada Mansion and held her hand "Thanks for coming at the interview"

Khushi smiled "My pleasure"

Part 22

The next day was the engagement.The General had locked Khushi in her room and Arnav in his,knowing they would want to meet each other.It was 4 PM and guests had begun pouring in for the engagement.Arnav was ready in his sherwani and Khushi was ready in her lehenga.

Arnav smiled at Khushi as he held her hand.She blushed when he kissed the back of her hand in front of everybody.They stood in the middle of the crowd and exchanged rings.Everybody clapped.Arnav leaned in towards Khushi and whispered "I can't believe everybody is here just to see us exchange rings"

Khushi laughed "I am having my mehndi tonight at 6"

"Hmm,interesting"

The General walked up to the them "Come,let's eat"

Arnav and Khushi nodded and followed him to the buffet.Picking up their food,they sat at a table.The General walked up to some guests leaving the couple alone.Khushi was happily munching on her food when a thought suddenly occuresd to her.She turned to Arnav "Arnav"

"Yeah"

"Is Panther still alive?"

Arnav stopped eating and looked at Khushi "Why do you want to know?"

Khushi shrugged "Just curious"

"Hmm...he is..Panther is still alive and in coma in a hospital"

"Oh"

Arnav nodded "The doctor doesn't know when he'll awaken" Khushi nodded and resumed eating.Arnav sighed and held Khushi's hand,grabbing her attention "Don't worry.He won't interfere in our lives"

Khushi gave a small smile and nodded.The rest of the party was just a blur.

It was 6:30 PM and Khushi was enjoying her mehndi ceremony.Beautiful mehndi adorned her hands and Khushi waited patiently for it to dry.She happily danced with the ladies,careful for her hands.She suddenly noticed Payal.Smiling widely,she ran to her.Noticing her Payal also smiled and hugged her "Oh Khushi,I missed you so much"

"I missed you too" replied Khushi.They parted "Where were you all those years?"

Payal smiled "Remember when I was trying to help you escape? When you were kidnapped,Panth- I mean Arnav found me"

Flashback

"Khushi" Payal called out "Where are you?" A sudden movement caught her attention.Arnav stepped out with a gun held in his hand by his side "YOU" shouted Payal "Stay away or or else-"

"Stay calm Payal" said Arnav in his firm voice "Where is Khushi?"

"I-I am n-not t-t-telling you" Payal stuttered keeping her eyes on his gun.

Arnav took a step forward "Tell me" Payal shook her head.Arnav sighed "I didn't think I would have to reveal this quick" he mumbled to himself.Looking at Payal he took out a small badge with his name carved on it "I am police Payal..tell me where Khushi is"

Payal froze unable to believe him "I don't believe you" 

Arnav gave an huge sigh,obviously annoyed.He took out a small booklet.Opening it up he showed it to Payal.There was a license inside with Arnav's picture proving he was really part of the police.Payal gasped.Arnav raised his eyebrows "Now will you tell me?"

"I-I d-on't know w-where sh-she i-is"

Arnav clenched his fist "What do you mean you don't know where she is?"

"I-I had gone to g-get a spare tire from the b-back and when I returned she was g-gone"

Arnav ran a hand through his hair,frustrated "Fine and now since you know my identity,I can't trust you to keep it hidden.You go home and I'll find her and don't ever try to contact her until I allow it.Don't think I won't know because I will get police to keep an eye on you"

"But-"

"No buts! Now leave and keep my warning in mind"

Payal nodded and reluctantly left.

Flashback Ends

"He actually threatened you" said Khushi shocked.

Payal nodded "I guess it was to keep his identity hidden.I don't blame him and he was trying to protect you" Khushi nodded remembering all the things he did "Anyways come,let's enjpy your mehndi ceremony"

The girls got on the dance floor and enjoyed themselves.Khushi leaned against a pillar tired.Her mehndi had already dried and she had rinsed it off.Suddenly an arm shot out and grabbed her hand pulling her to the other side of the pillar where nobody else was.Khushi didn't have to see to know who it was "You look beautiful" commented Arnav,tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

Khushi gave a small blush "Thanks but you're not supposed to be here"

Arnav shrugged "I wanted to see you so I came"

Khushi giggled "What if somebody sees us?"

"I don't care"

"Really?" said some girls in a chorus behind him.

Arnav groaned leaning his forehead against Khushi's.Khushi blushed and giggled.She lightly pushed him and ran away,followed by the girls "I can't wait for tomorrow" whispered Arnav smiling.

The next day came and it was the wedding day.The wedding was at 6 PM.Arnav's dad made sure to again lock the the couple in their seperate rooms.It was finally 6 PM.Arnav sat at the altar waiting impatiently until he saw Khushi descend down the stairs with Payal by her side.She raised her eyes and looked into Arnav's and smiled.He smiled back.Khushi sat next to him and the rituals followed.

It was the wedding reception.Arnav and Khushi were holding hands and enjoying.Arnav got up and put out his hand in front of her "Dance?"

Khushi nodded and placed her hand in his.The approached the dance floor and danced on a slow dance "I can't believe we're married..finally together" said Khushi smiling.

Arnav nodded "I can but I just can't believe we are spending our time like this...on the dance floor when really we should be in ..."

Khushi blushed "Dad has organized this and I think it's beautiful"

"It is but don't you want to do something private" he whispered in her ear.

Khushi turned bright red "Arnav!"

"What? It is true" said Arnav "Let's go"

"We can't" objected Khushi "Dad has organized such a wonderful party.He wouldn't like it if we left"

"From all the years I have known him I don't think he'll mind" Arnav smirked.

Arnav took Khushi home making sure no one saw them when they left the party and carried her to their bedroom.Arnav kicked the door shut and lay Khushi on the bed.Khushi blushed seeing him come so close to her.He leaned towards her and nuzzled against her neck.He glanced at her lips and claimed them.Khushi held onto Arnav's shoulders to keep her balance,responding back.Arnav lightly pushed her against the bed towering over her,still kissing her.He took a deep breath when he let her go.He slowly undressed her,making sure to brush his fingers across Khushi's skin.He leaned and kissed her bare shoulder lightly.Letting his eyes wander,Arnav smiled realizing she,the beauty was all his and he will never have to share her with anybody.Khushi crossed her arms against her chest realizing he was staring at her naked form.Arnav smiled and gently removed her arms "You are too beautiful to be hidden Khushi" Khushi blushed.From the compliment or laying in front of him naked,Arnav didn't know "I missed you so much" he whispered huskily in her ear.
